Sovah Health today announced that nurse practitioner Kim Nester has joined Sovah Cancer Center and will be providing specialty care for hematology and oncology patients.
“We are excited to welcome Kim to our team of providers at Sovah Cancer Center,” said Jamye Wright, Director of the cancer center. “Her experience and education, combined with her passion for her patients, will help us expand our cancer and clinical trial program to meet the healthcare needs of our region.”
Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the Francis Marion University (Florence SC). She completed her Bachelor of Science in BioMedical Science at Averett University (Danville, VA). She is a board certified family nurse practitioner who is coming to us from Duke Cancer Center where she worked closely with research, clinical trials, and bone marrow transplants.
At Sovah Cancer Center, Kim will be working alongside oncologist Dr. Ankit Madan and Dr. Akintunde Akinleye in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with benign and malignant blood disorders, cancer prevention and care, cancer pain management, and chemotherapy treatment and follow up. She will also specialize in the care of adult autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplant patients. Kim is accepting new patients, and appointments may be made by calling 434.793.0044.
