Dr. Y. Foli Sekyema obtained B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Ghana in 1982. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1987. Subsequently he received a Masters degree in Pharmacology from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in 1991. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine from Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins University in 1994 and Nephrology Fellowship from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 2000. He began employment with Southside Urology & Nephrology in 2000. He is the Director of the DanRiver Access Center and serves as the Vice President for Southside Urology & Nephrology and Piedmont Day Surgery Center. He is ASDIN-certified in Interventional Nephrology.
