Home Health

Home Health provides care in the home to meet skilled health needs for patients recovering from surgeries or illnesses, or living with chronic diseases such as diabetes or COPD.  Home Health makes recommendations for needed equipment and support services and works closely with your provider to coordinate all aspects of your care, focusing on recovering and re-establishing independence.  Home Health services include skilled nursing, home health aides, and physical, occupational and speech therapies.  Home Health can also provide social worker consults to address social needs. Our goal is to assist patients to remain safe and well in their own homes as often as is possible.

Home health and hospice services are provided by LHC Group to patients and their families across Southern Virginia.

Generally, Medicare and/or Medicaid will cover the cost of home health services for those patients who meet either program’s eligibility requirements. Private insurance companies, managed care organizations, and workers’ compensation plans may also pay for home health services.
