Martinsville, VA (March 13, 2017) – Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County (MHMHC) today announced that Uosife Alfahd, M.D. has joined its staff and will be offering orthopedic services to patients throughout Martinsville and Henry County, and the surrounding region. He has joined the practice of Martinsville Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (formerly the Bone & Joint Center) alongside Dr. Michael Wenkstern, also an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Alfahd joins MHMHC from Bon Secours Health System and Virginia Orthopaedic & Spine Specialists in Norfolk, VA. He graduated from Al-Arab Medical University (Benghazi, Libya) and completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). Dr. Alfahd completed a dual fellowship in orthopedic trauma and joint replacement at St. Michael’s Hospital at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). He also is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the Canadian Orthopedic Association and Doctors Without Borders.
