Coronavirus (COVID-19) Preparedness Information Learn More
Sovah Health has established a regular update to share information with the public related to COVID-19 including the status of hospital operations and the safety measures being taken to protect our patients, staff and community. These updates are provided by various clinical and physician leaders and will be available on the hospitals’ social media channels and website.
As of March 17, 2021: Currently, Sovah Health has 20 patients across both campuses, with 14 located in Danville and 6 in Martinsville, who have tested positive and are being treated for COVID-19 in our hospitals. This is about the same since our last bi-weekly update was provided on March 3. Despite these improving numbers, it is still important to remain vigilant in COVID-19 prevention. Continue to protect yourself and others: cover your mouth and nose with a mask, wash your hands often and well, stay at least six feet away from others, and avoid gatherings with anyone who is not a member of your household.
This week, Ashley Williams, MSN, FNP-C, Acute Care Services Director and Hematology and Oncology, NP in Martinsville, shares our bi-weekly update including information about COVID-19 vaccine administration and a reflection about what it’s been like as we continue to observe our 1-year COVID-19 anniversary.
To date, Sovah Health has administered or redistributed over 22,615 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. We will continue to work across both communities that Sovah Health serves to vaccinate, and you can count on us to remain engaged until our community is fully vaccinated.
We also have an update to the limited visitation policy that was shared on Monday. Effective, today Sovah Health is increasing the number of visitors allowed for pediatric and labor and delivery patients.
All visitors must be 18 years of age or older, will be screened upon entry and are required to provide their own mask and wear a visitor security pass sticker while in the facility. Visitors who do not pass the screening at entry will be asked to reschedule their visit until they are symptom-free. Click here to view visitation policies.
Sovah Health continues to take all the necessary precautions to protect our patients and staff from COVID-19, including limiting entry points to the facility, screening all individuals for symptoms of COVID-19, universal masking, and maintaining a limited visitor protocol.
