At Sovah Health, community is grounded in everything we do. From our history as community hospitals to our mission of Making Communities Healthier, we are committed to our region and its people. Learn more about the ways we are engaging our communities below:

Patient Family Advisory Council

Modeled after LifePoint's Patient Family Advisory Board, our local council is comprised of current and former patients, families and citizens. The purpose of our Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) is to empower patients to take an active role in their local healthcare delivery systems by representing the patient voice in Sovah Health's efforts to continuously improve the patient experience. If yo're interested in joining the PFAC, please email us.

Community Benefit Report

Sovah Health and its campuses are more than a health system and hospital. As one of the largest employers, taxpayers, consumers of goods and providers of service in our communities, Sovah Health is a driver of economic development across our region. Annually, our hospital publishes a Community Benefit Report that reviews the broad scope of the contributions we make to the communities we serve.

Education & Outreach

Sovah Health hosts and participates in various community events and health fairs throughout the year to educate and share information about health and wellness. In 2016, we launched the Your Best Life Ahead (YBLA) group at our Martinsville campus that provides monthly lunch & learns.

Sponsorships & Donations

Sovah Health takes a leadership role in our communities through strategic partnerships and charitable giving that align with our mission, vision and high five guiding principles. Learn more.

Volunteers serve a critical role at Sovah Health — our volunteers are often the first people our patients and families encounter. There are a variety of areas where volunteers can serve, and we are always seeking new areas of assistance. If you have a desire to help, we have a place for you. Learn more.
