What is your role at Sovah Health– Danville?

I am the Executive Assistant in Administration.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare? 

A couple of years ago I started working on the weekends part-time as a switchboard operator in Centrex.  As I started learning more about Sovah Health I quickly knew I wanted to find a long-term career here.  I found it fascinating how there were so many different departments working together for one common goal and I wanted to somehow be a part of that, but I didn’t quite know how.  As it turned out when I heard the Executive Assistant position was open, I asked lots of questions and was excited for the opportunity to further my journey with Sovah Health!

What is a typical day like for you working in this field? 

No two days are the same.  I provide administrative support for the Market President, Market Vice President of Support Services & Engagement, Market Chief Financial Officer, Market Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, and Market Quality Director.  That support can be anything from anticipating needs, taking messages, managing calendars, prioritizing various projects, preparing materials for meetings, and participating in a wide range of special projects.  I also support our Board of Trustee meetings as I handle all note taking and correspondence before, during and after Board meetings.  I work closely with many departments to assist them with any needs they may have when it involves Administration.  I field a lot of questions and if I don’t know the answer, I try to find the right person to help.       

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position? 

I started part time on the weekends in Centrex (Switchboard Operator) in February 2021 and started full time in Administration (Executive Assistant) in October 2022. 

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

I enjoy traveling anytime I get a chance. Any beach is great to relax at!  I like to eat out and Outback Steakhouse is my favorite restaurant!

What do you enjoy most about working at Sovah Health?

I have always enjoyed planning and organizing.  In my role I get to plan details no matter how small or large to help others.  When I can take on tasks and help others that gives me joy.
