Halle Cassada Testimonial

August 07, 2026

Halle never expected a trip to the emergency room for stomach pain would lead to surgery, but she’s grateful she trusted the team at Sovah Health when the pain wouldn’t go away.

After arriving in the emergency room, Halle underwent several tests to determine the cause of her discomfort. A CT scan revealed inflammation, and her care team recommended surgery. It turned out her appendix was severely swollen, and acting quickly made all the difference.

“From the moment I got to the hospital, everyone made me feel comfortable and cared for,” Halle said. “Dr. McClung took the time to explain everything and helped put me at ease. She even cracked jokes and talked with me about softball, which helped calm my nerves.”

A college softball player, Halle appreciated the personal connection. Dr. McClung continued to check on her throughout her stay, visiting her after surgery, again the next morning, and even taking extra precautions when her blood pressure dropped before discharge. Her attention to detail helped identify dehydration, ensuring she received the fluids she needed before going home.

“The nurses were incredible,” Halle recalled. “Everyone was so friendly and supportive. They made a stressful situation much easier.”

Although the surgery forced Halle to miss the final two weeks of her softball season, her recovery has been a success. She is already back in the batting cage and playing pain-free.

What stands out most to Halle is the lasting impact her care team had beyond her hospitalization. Aspiring to attend physician assistant school, she found encouragement and guidance from Dr. McClung during follow-up appointments.

“She’s always taken an interest in my future and has given me advice about a medical career,” she said. “That meant a lot to me.”

Today, Halle is back to doing what she loves and is thankful for the compassionate, expert care she received at Sovah Health.
