Sovah Health - Martinsville Announces DAISY Award Winner

Coty Dempsey, RN of Sovah Health – Martinsville was honored recently with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses, an international recognition program that celebrates nurses who provide exceptional clinical skill and compassionate care to patients and families.

Dempsey earned the recognition after receiving a nomination from a patient’s family member, who shared how his compassion, attentiveness and dedication made a lasting impact during a difficult and emotional emergency room visit.

During the Father’s Day ER visit, Dempsey provided comfort and care while making sure the family was updated and understood each step of their loved one’s care. They wrote, “Coty provided comfort and care for our family. He made sure we were updated and understood every step of my father-in-law’s care.”

The family also praised Dempsey’s genuine compassion, noting that he continued to check in with them to see if they needed anything and to check on their own emotional well-being during a very difficult time.
