Sovah Health Welcomes New Gastroenterologist

Sovah Health announced today that Amir Shahzad Butt, MD has joined Sovah Physician Practices and is providing gastroenterology care for Sovah Surgical Specialists – Danville.

Dr. Amir Butt’s clinical expertise includes colon cancer screening, colon polyps, bile duct stones and obstruction, pancreatic cancer, gastric reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (EGD), and advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), which is used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the bile ducts and pancreas. Dr. Amir Butt also provides care for patients with complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions, including pancreatitis, liver failure, cirrhosis, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and iron deficiency anemia.

He received his medical degree from Quaid-e-Azam Medical College (Bahawalpur, Pakistan), completed his residency at NYU Langone Hospital (Brookyln, NY) and his fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center (Brooklyn, NY).
