The Graduate Medical Education Program at Sovah Health is dually accredited (AOA and ACGME) and is dedicated to training physicians to be the best possible primary care physicians. The program began July 1, 2010 and is affiliated with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) and Osteopathic Medical Network of Excellence in Education (OMNEE), the regional postgraduate training institution. Sovah Health has a year-long program that fosters a safe learning environment to effectively transition the new graduate nurse from the classroom to the bedside. It includes preceptorship training with specialized preceptors that have been trained to assist in filling the individualed learning needs of the new graduate nurse. It also includes weekly didactic classroom sessions where we continue to foster learning by having clinicians and physicans present on topics geared towards specific learning needs. The program also offers individualized care by our coordinator, who assists in ensuring your success in the program
Sovah Health and Medical Solutions Academy (MSA) have launched a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Education Program. In addition to earning a certificate, students will benefit from working while learning in paid positions. Classes and clinicals are currently only offered on our Danville campus, however, after completion of the program students will have a choice to work on either campus. Opportunities for clinical rotations on the Martinsville campus will ensue. Sovah Health will financially cover 100% of the costs for the training program and examination fee, with the classes being held at the Medical Solutions Academy. The employee will be required to sign an 18-month commitment to Sovah Health after completing the program, before attending the course. Classes and clinicals are currently only offered on our Danville campus, however, after completion of the program students will have a choice to work on either campus.
Qualified candidates for the education program include individuals who have already earned a high school diploma. Those interested in applying for the CNA Education Program should complete the application located here.
